The Sacred Mountain

As a matter of fact, it's a volcano but Mount Banahaw in Quezon Province is more known for its mystical history and its inhabitants' unusual beliefs.

Reiciendis voluptatibus maiores

Supreme Church of Mystical City of God

Aside from being considered as a huge place of worship, Mount Banahaw is also believed to be the New Jerusalem, the Chosen Place of God.

Asumenda omnis dolor

The Cleansing River

Ilog Lagnas or Piedra Mental, this river is believed to be able to wash away your sins and heal your soul. This river is also identified as the Jordan River of Banahaw.

Voluptates repudiandae sint

The Way of the Cross

Perhaps, one of the reason why this 'Banahaw system of beliefs' was established is because the locals were looking for a way towards God.

Necessitatibus saepe eveniet

Prophetic Rizal

Rizal is equated with Jesus. For most of us, we view Rizal as a National Hero, but for the pilgrims and religious of Mt. Banahaw, Rizal is a Prophet, and Banahaw is the New Jerusalem.

Omnis dolor repellendus

Through Darkness and Narrow Gate

From trials too great for us to endure, God spares us. However, He also tests our faith, but God will not test us beyond what we can do. And for every suffering we experience, God has already provided a way out. We won't enter a cave in the first place if it doesn't have an exit, right?

Pomnis voluptas assumenda

Conquerors and Pilgrims

Saint Lorenzo Ruiz of S.Y. 2012-2013. We conquered the dark constriction of Husgado Cave, the arduous steep of Mt. Kalbaryo, and the icy cold waters of Piedra Mental. Who said we couldn't?

Prologue: The Enchanted Girl

Enchanted Beginnings...

Maria Bernarda Balitaan is considered the founder of Ciudad Mistica de Dios. When Maria Bernarda was born, she came out of her mother's womb enclosed in a soft ball of tissue. Her mother, thinking that it was only a mass of tissue, decided to have it thrown away.

Now, the cousin of Maria's mother was tasked to throw it. The cousin felt something urging her to do otherwise; so she hid the ball of tissue in Mt. Banahaw and returned to check it three days later. When the cousin went back, she brought with her a midwife who would then break the ball of tissue. Then, Maria Bernarda emerged.

So what happened to Maria Bernarda after she came out of that enchanted ball?

What else? She did all enchanted things (since she was three) that all prophets and heroes do. Then she became the founder of Ciudad Mistica de Dios.

Conquerors of Mt. Banahaw

Saint Lorenzo Ruiz Group 8
I'm ____________ the chief editor and manager of this blog. I love reading books, drawing mythical creatures. Others see me as unusually quite. They may see me as timid, nevertheless I am confident and I enjoy the company of my friends.
This is____________, our very affable/congenial class president. He is into music. He can play guitar very well. He even composes his own melody. Just give him a good poem and he'll turn it into a magnificent and heart-warming song.

The very athletic and friendly ________. It was no problem for him climbing Mount Kalbaryo. It's like he's been training for it for months. Well, what do we expect from the Marist's Most Valuable Baseball Player (sorry __________)?
