Maintaining Balance...

While climbing Mt. Kalbaryo, some of us slip, stumble, fall. Some of us find it difficult, not only to climb the steep slopes of the mountain, but also to maintain our balance.
So, we all find a way to help ourselves stay in a state of equilibrium (WHAT?) Hahaha. Anyway, these are the common things I observe we do to maintain our balance:

1.) We stand with our feet apart.
Well, the wider the base an object has, the more stable the object is.

2.) While climbing the mountain, we tend to crouch, or squat.
The closer the object's center of gravity is to the surface (providing a normal force) the more stable   object is.

Altitude vs. Air Pressure...

When travelling to a higher place, especially to mountainous regions, I notice something in my ears that muffles the sound around me. I guess it's caused by the change in air pressure.
"As the altitude increases, the air pressure decreases." This is because when the air molecules are pushed up at a higher altitude, they spread out, thus causing a decrease in air pressure.
